This program teaches beauty techniques to female cancer patients in active treatment to help them combat the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. The American Cancer Society, in partnership with the National Cosmetology Association and the Cosmetics, Toiletry and Fragrance Association, train volunteer cosmetologists to teach women how to cope with skin changes and hair loss using free cosmetics and skin care products donated by the cosmetic industry. This four-week class is designed to prepare you physically and emotionally for the experience of childbirth. Topics include anatomy and physiology of labor and birth, breathing and relaxation techniques, role of the labor partner, hospital procedures, obstetric pain management, Cesarean birth and postpartum care. Early sign-up is recommended, as class sizes are limited. Fee: $50.

Breastfeeding: A Gift for Baby

Breastfeeding: The Balancing Act

This is a one-time class, offered to breast-feeding mothers who are preparing to return to either work or school. This will be an informal class with discussion facilitated by a board-certified lactation consultant. Mothers are encouraged to bring their baby and breast pump to class with them. This class is only for mothers who have already delivered. Fee: Free.
Welcome to Grandparenthood!

This fun and interactive class will prepare first-time grandparents-to-be on their role as both a parent and grandparent. Learn the most up-to-date information on prenatal and infant care and the differences between when you were a new parent and now. Grandparents will leave this class knowing the best ways they can offer love and support during and after pregnancy and a “top 10” list of what it means to be a grandparent. This is a must for new grandparents-to-be. Registration is required for this free class, which is offered on a limited basis to grandparents only. Fee: Free.
Great Expectations

Trinity BirthPlace staff provides this class to allow future parents the chance to complete the mandatory paperwork before going into labor. Qualified educators teach every mother-to-be what she needs to know when choosing to deliver at Trinity Birthplace. This free class includes vital pre-admission information, a review of consents, explanations on birth certificate and Social Security requirements and more. Fee: Free.
SMOKING CESSATION
Smoking Cessation Workshop
6-8 p.m., Tuesdays, July 8-29
Participants will receive information on preparing to quit, initiating a quit day and using strategies to stay smoke-free. Topics will include dealing with symptoms of recovery, controlling weight, managing stress and resisting smoking urges. Fee: $20 per person or $30 per couple.
