Hypertension Diagnosis and Treatment
6-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 9
Dr. Hani Horani of Medical Arts Associates will discuss early screening and detection of hypertension, as well as important information when faced with a hypertension diagnosis. Information on how to control hypertension will also be covered. Fee: Free.
Epilepsy and Related Medical and Legal Issues
6-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 16
Dr. Bassam Assaf, neurologist with Illinois NeuroScience Center, will discuss medical, social and legal factors for families and individuals diagnosed with epilepsy. Fee: Free.
Palliative Care Options
2-3 p.m., Wednesday, July 23
Palliative care, also known as comfort care, aims to improve the quality of life of patients and helps families deal with the stress of serious illness. Sandie Nichols, Manager of Palliative Care and Social Services at Trinity VNHA, will discuss palliative care options available at Trinity. Fee: Free.
Stroke Prevention
6-7 p.m., Monday, July 28
Stroke is the leading cause of adult disability and the third leading cause of death in the United States. Individuals can help prevent a stroke by making behavioral and lifestyle changes that lower their risk. Please join Lori Johnson, R.N., M.S.N., Trinity Clinical Educator, to learn more about your risk for stroke. Fee: Free.
